Mediation is the best approach when it comes to divorce. It gives you faster, cheaper, and lasting results! In mediation, the two parties retain full control of their divorce outcome.
Christina Van Ness of Van Ness Law is a seasoned divorce attorney with nearly two decades of trial experience. She is also the co-founder of FreeDivorce.com. After years of litigating, she understood people rarely looked for the high conflict of court appearances or the excessive attorney fees that went along with that approach. As a mediator, Christina acts as a 3rd party neutral and helps the parties reach agreements on all issues including division of property and debts, custody, and support. She identifies issues for discussion, assists with the exchange of information and documents, educates the parties regarding the law, and suggests settlement alternatives. Once a settlement agreement is reached, Christina drafts the Marital Settlement Agreement, the Judgment of Dissolution, and all of the court forms that are needed to process the matter as an uncontested divorce. If the matter is resolved through mediation, all of the paperwork will be processed by the mediator through the court system without the need for either party to ever appear in court.
Licensed in California and Washington, Christina Van Ness has dedicated her career to neutral work as a mediator, consultant, and private judge, because she believes the divorce process can be less destructive with the right guide by your side.
